Give Thanks!

Offering of yourself fully in life can lead to radical discovery of deep rooted and often untouched wellsprings of gifts.  This is the ultimate thank you card, the ultimate exchange of presents; the simple realization that we truly have so much to give!  In this holiday season, plant the seeds to uncover this realization and revel in the transformation that is possible.

Blessings.

Ideal health facility

As someone who strives for holistic health and works constantly to pursue a lifestyle of ever improving health and wellness; I am in the process of developing a vision for a facility that is in tune with this line of work, but I need your help.  Following are a few questions, feel free to answer any and all of them, any feedback and information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

1)  What types of preventative health practices do you love?  (yoga, massage, acupuncture, organic nutrition, vegan, vegetarian, etc.)

2)  Where do you go to receive treatment for acute health issues such as cold, flu, or injuries? (A doctor's office, an acupuncture clinic, a wellness clinic, etc.)

3)  What does your ideal health treatment facility look like and what services does it offer?

Happy New Year!

I'm sure everyone has talked about or at least thought about the change that is afoot.  Not only with the natural change of the New Year, but as well with the socio-political and economic changes that seem to be gaining in velocity.  Thinking Holistically about this atmosphere of change I'd like to offer you some words I have found useful to me.  Cultivate flexibility in all aspects of your life; the practice of Yoga and learning to breathe with my body has taught me that if I can breathe through all events of my life and maintain a gentle flexibility in my emotions, psychological state, and of course my physical state, I can actually generate a lightness and general well-being even in times of stress, anger, or anxiety.

What words or actions resonate with you during time of change?

Lots of Love and Light in the New Year.

Yoga and your recent Holistic experience

I have been practicing Anusara yoga for about three years now and can't speak highly enough about how valuable it has been in my life.  I have come to understand that the key to longevity in terms of a fit, comfortable and highly functional body and spirit; is yoga.  Anusara in particular emphasizes an anatomically correct body position in every pose and utilizes a theme in each class to connect the work done on the yoga mat to the experiences we have off the mat and throughout our lives.  It comes from a beautiful place and influences its practitioners to live through the heart where qualities as powerful as love, and compassion originate.
I began my practice of Anusara yoga after moving to Colorado and joining a soccer team.  After playing a season or two, I was developing chronic back pain.  I would play a game on Sunday and be sore through the following week.  Having experienced the chronic pain-preventing benefits of yoga before, I made a pact with myself to find a yoga class and never be without it.  Since then, whether it's once a week or a three-week intensive of two classes per day, I have not been without yoga and my chronic pain is gone.
This experience has been a true awakening for me and my connection to my body.  Please take some time to comment on an enlightening experience you have had with holistic health.

Thanks as always for your participation.
-Roger

U.S. Health Care

The issues with the health-care in the United States are broad and deep rooted.  I would argue that the combination of the culture of our society, our medical research methodology, as well as the evolution of our health-care systems have had a synergistic effect on creating the debacle that is public health in this country.  Please take a moment to leave your opinion on the matter, or just read more in the comments section.

Thanks

Question #1

Here is the first in what will be a series of topic questions from which we will start our conversation and get to know a little about ourselves.  The only request I have is that you have respect in your response.  Thanks.

1)  In your experience as a holistic health practitioner or as a patient/client receiving a holistic health service; what has been your greatest revelation?
